This year's Independence Day isn't just another summer holiday. 2026 marks America's 250th birthday, and communities across the I-35W corridor are pulling out all the stops to celebrate.
The good news for residents of Justin, Argyle, Northlake, Denton, and the surrounding I-35W corridor: you don't have to fight metroplex traffic or fairgrounds-sized crowds to catch a great show. From a brand-new neighborhood celebration in Justin to small-town traditions in Denton, Roanoke, Trophy Club, and Flower Mound, here are five places worth your evening this Independence Day weekend.
A quick note for our neighbors in Argyle: fireworks are not permitted within town limits, so if you're looking for a show nearby, the options below are your best bet.
1. Treeline by Hillwood Fireworks Show — Justin, TX
When: Thursday, July 2, 2026, 7:30–9:45 p.m. Where: Treeline by Hillwood, Justin, TX
Treeline by Hillwood is hosting its first annual fireworks show this year, timed intentionally to honor America's 250th birthday. As one of Hillwood's communities along the corridor, Treeline by Hillwood has quickly become a gathering place for families in Justin, and this inaugural celebration is shaping up to be a meaningful one. If you live in or near Treeline, this is a chance to be part of a brand-new neighborhood tradition from year one.
2. Denton 4th of July Fireworks — North Texas Fairgrounds
When: Saturday, July 4, 2026. Gates open at 6 p.m., live music at 7 p.m., fireworks at 9:30 p.m. Where: North Texas Fairgrounds, 2217 N. Carroll Blvd., Denton, TX
Denton's fireworks show is a genuine local institution — the Denton Noon Kiwanis Club has presented it for 54 years, dating back to 1972. After two years of drone shows in 2023 and 2024, traditional fireworks returned last year and are back again for 2026. The evening features live music from Raised Right Men, food and drinks for purchase, and a sound system synced to the fireworks for the full sensory experience. Admission is free; parking is $10 per car and benefits the Kiwanis Children's Clinic, a cause the club has supported in Denton since 1925.
Denton's Yankee Doodle Parade also takes place Saturday, July 4, starting at 9 a.m. from Downtown Denton Square — so residents can make a full day of it, starting with the parade downtown and ending with fireworks at the Fairgrounds that evening.
3. Roanoke TX Fireworks — Freedom Festival
When: Friday, July 3, 2026, 5–10 p.m. Where: Downtown Roanoke / City Hall Plaza, 500 S. Oak Street, Roanoke, TX
Roanoke intentionally hosts its celebration on July 3rd rather than the 4th, which gives the city room for a bigger show than it could otherwise manage on the more crowded holiday itself. Freedom Festival brings live music from a lineup of local and regional musicians, carnival rides, food trucks, and the city's beloved pie-eating contest, open to kids as young as five. Fireworks begin around 9:15 p.m. Admission is free, and Roanoke's compact, walkable downtown makes this one of the easier corridor shows to enjoy without a long walk to parking.
4. Trophy Club Fireworks Celebration — Independence Park East
When: Saturday, July 4, 2026, 6–10:30 p.m. Where: Independence Park East, 500 Parkview Drive, Trophy Club, TX
Trophy Club's Independence Day celebration is a community-built tradition, with live music, inflatables, kids' activities, and food and beverage vendors leading into the fireworks finale. The evening's children's activities and live music are free for everyone. Note that parking is limited this year and there will not be shuttle service due to ongoing construction, so plan to arrive early or carpool. Overflow parking is available at Beck Elementary and Medlin Middle School nearby.
5. Flower Mound 4th of July — Independence Fest
When: Saturday, July 4, 2026, all day, fireworks in the evening Where: Bakersfield Park, 1201 Duncan Lane, Flower Mound, TX
Flower Mound's Independence Fest has grown into one of the corridor's largest Fourth of July celebrations, and this year's lineup raises the bar even further. The evening features live performances from Emerald City Band and Le Freak, leading into a headline performance from multi-platinum country star Gabby Barrett — known for hits like "I Hope" and "The Good Ones." The day starts earlier with a Children's Parade, face painting, and free hot dogs, followed by a classic car show, food trucks, and vendor booths at Bakersfield Park. The evening program, fireworks show, and off-site parking are all free. If weather forces a delay, the rain date for fireworks only is Sunday, July 5.
Planning Your Weekend
With celebrations spread across Thursday through Saturday this year, there's no need to choose just one. Catch Treeline's inaugural show Thursday evening, head to Roanoke's Freedom Festival Friday night, and close out the weekend on Saturday, July 4 with your choice of Denton's Kiwanis fireworks downtown, Trophy Club's family celebration, or Flower Mound's Independence Fest headlined by Gabby Barrett.
However you celebrate, we hope you and your family have a wonderful Independence Day weekend along the corridor we're proud to call home.
For the glory of God and the good of others. Happy 4th of July from Alliance Network.
