The biggest screen in Northlake is a 204-inch jumbo screen at 1633 Robson Ranch Rd. That is where G.O.A.T.'s Arena Sports Bar & Grill opened this fall, with heaters on a covered patio, TVs out there too, and NFL Sunday Ticket. Across town at 13850 Chadwick Parkway, Shark Club Sports Bar & Grill opened in August inside the Northlake StarCenter. Through the wall are two NHL-size sheets of ice.
Both places show the same games, but they work on different schedules. G.O.A.T.'s builds its week around weeknight football and cheap wings. Shark Club comes into its own on a Saturday, when one adult can catch a kickoff while the kids are on the ice at public skate, all under one roof.
Weeknights belong to Robson Ranch Road
G.O.A.T.'s Arena held its grand opening on Friday, Sept. 4, timed for the start of football season, as the Cross Timbers Gazette reported. It is the fourth G.O.A.T.'s in Dallas-Fort Worth, and the Northlake location is locally owned by a small partner group. One of the owners told the Gazette the group searched for about two years before landing here: "We're more of a neighborhood bar and hope to see a lot of customers from the community."
The bar's weekly events page shows how it plans the week:
- Monday Night Football: $1 wings for the whole game, shown on the 204-inch screen.
- Tuesday: Ladies Night with $3 tacos from 7 to 11 p.m., plus live karaoke from 7 to 10 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of each month.
- Wednesday: Wild Wing Wednesday, a 10-wing deal that runs all day.
- Thursday Night Football: the same $1 wings for the whole game.
- Sunday: game-day watch parties covering NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, UFC, college football, Premier League and MLS.
Friday and Saturday have no posted specials. The menu stays the same as the chain's other locations, with wings, wagyu burgers, Tex-Mex, craft beer and cocktails. The site also mentions a live DJ for watch parties and private events.
This post goes up on Thursday, Oct. 22, so tonight is a $1-wing night on Robson Ranch Road.
Shark Club's real draw is the building around it
Shark Club is a bigger brand than its Northlake storefront suggests. The chain started in downtown Vancouver in 1993 and has locations in Winnipeg and London. According to the Cross Timbers Gazette, it expanded into the United States after Dallas Stars owner Tom Gaglardi bought the concept. Northlake is its second U.S. location, after Plano.
That ownership explains the address. The Dallas Stars developed the Northlake StarCenter as a public-private venture with the town. It's the 11th StarCenter in DFW, with two NHL-size ice sheets, eight basketball courts that convert into 16 volleyball courts, eight pickleball courts, and a Shark Club and Shark Shack concession built in. So a sports bar is one of several things going on in the building at any given hour.
The menu goes well beyond wings. The Gazette listed smothered fries topped with queso, barbacoa and jalapeños, plus beef sliders, calamari and shrimp, jambalaya, butter chicken and Frito pie, along with wings, salads, burgers and pizzas. Its deal is a weekday happy hour rather than a game-night special. It runs Monday through Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. and again from 10 p.m. to close. The happy hour menu lists $6 wine, $7 house-spirit highballs, $8 beer and $10 cocktails, and it doesn't apply on special-event days.
Here's how the two spots line up across the week:
| G.O.A.T.'s Arena, 1633 Robson Ranch Rd | Shark Club, 13850 Chadwick Pkwy | |
|---|---|---|
| Mon–Thu hours | Noon–11 p.m. | 11 a.m.–11 p.m. |
| Friday hours | Noon–midnight | 11 a.m.–midnight |
| Saturday hours | 10 a.m.–midnight | 10 a.m.–midnight |
| Sunday hours | 10 a.m.–11 p.m. | 10 a.m.–11 p.m. |
| Posted weekly deal | $1 wings during Monday and Thursday football, $3 tacos on Tuesday, Wild Wing Wednesday | Happy hour Mon–Fri, 3–7 p.m. and 10 p.m.–close |
| Next door | Covered, heated patio with TVs | Two public ice rinks, courts and pickleball |
The hours above come from each bar's current website. When Shark Club opened in August, the Gazette reported a 4 p.m. Friday start. The bar's own page now lists 11 a.m. Both places open at 10 a.m. on weekends, and G.O.A.T.'s lists weekend breakfast starting at that hour.
On Saturdays, the rink sets the clock
College football fills Saturday afternoons, and that's when the StarCenter's public skate makes Chadwick Parkway the easier choice for a family. The Stars' public skating page says sessions are open to all ages and skill levels, with admission and skate rental paid per person and registration online or at the rink. Northlake's fall 2026–27 schedule includes Friday evening and weekend public skates. Session times change, so check the schedule before you plan a game around one.
Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, and the Stars' holiday guide gives Northlake three costume skates on Oct. 31:
- 1:15 to 2:45 p.m.
- 4:45 to 6:15 p.m.
- 6:30 to 7:45 p.m.
Skate rental is free if you come in costume. With three sessions spread across the afternoon and evening, Halloween can include a skate, a quarter of football at Shark Club, and still leave time for trick-or-treating back home.
Three dates through the end of November
The weekly routine above covers most of the season. These three dates add something different, and each one sits near a regular game-day spot.
Saturday, Oct. 24: Barktober at Hilltop Truck Park. The fundraiser at 8150 Thompson Rd starts at 5 p.m., with a raffle and silent auction at 6:30 p.m. Proceeds go to Easy Street Animal Shelter. Hilltop is now officially inside town limits. Mayor Brian Montini wrote in his August Northlake Notes column that many residents already thought of Hilltop as part of Northlake before an agreement with the Arnold family brought it in. Plans for the property include a food-hall-style venue, a nine-hole par-three golf course, and a new home for Northlake's fireworks celebrations. Hilltop's calendar lists community and holiday events, not game screenings, so plan on visiting for the cause rather than the game.
Saturday, Nov. 28: Turkey Trot on ice at the StarCenter. On the Saturday after Thanksgiving, the Northlake rink hosts a Turkey Trot from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. Skaters complete 34 laps, which adds up to a 5K, and earn a Turkey Trot medal. Entry is $25. It's the last Northlake event on the Stars' holiday guide this year. The December events listed there are at other StarCenters.
Monday, Nov. 30: Christmas at the Commons. The town's tree lighting runs from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Northlake Commons Square, according to the Town of Northlake calendar. It falls on a Monday, one of the two nights G.O.A.T.'s posts its $1-wing football special.
Looking into December, Hilltop's free Holidays at Hilltop event on Saturday, Dec. 12, brings food trucks, bounce houses, a snow machine, Santa and the Grinch, and a Christmas market.
